The Betrayer Arrives

John 18:1-11 can be broken into 4 sections: v. 1-5 emphasizes the plan of Christ to voluntarily give Himself up to arrest; v. 6 demonstrates the power of Christ in simply speaking His name; v. 7-9 reiterate the protection of Christ in keeping His disciples from arrest; and v. 10-11 teach the purpose of Christ to voluntarily drink the bitter cup of God's wrath in His atoning death on the cross.
