To You and to Your Children

Why do Presbyterians baptize their children? Because the Bible commands it. Peter concludes the very first sermon of the New Testament church in such a way that his audience could think nothing other than that the covenant – and the covenant sign, baptism – belongs “to you and your children” just as every covenant God had every made with them always had. And rather than the rest of the New Testament refuting that notion, it continues to enforce it.
