Of Depravity and Judgment

Genesis 6 opens with a world that's a far cry from the Garden of Eden. Mankind's corruption and wickedness continue to fester and grow, magnified by their allegiance to the Satan and his demonic hoard. But God will not be mocked! In sad displeasure and holy wrath, he condemns both fallen angels and wicked men to face a reckoning, a judgment that cannot be escaped apart from his grace. In characteristic kindness, the LORD delays his coming judgment, that the ungodly may repent and find the grace he alone can give. Only Noah, however, displays a heart of living faith and obedience towards God. And it's through him (and his holy offspring) that God will eventually bring rest and restoration to both the land and the people of God who inhabit it.
