Diligence and Danger

Wrapped together in these four verses are diligence and danger. The apostle urged his readers to give whole-hearted diligence to the Gospel wherein Christ fully saved His people by His own obedience and blood. He warned failure to do so is to face grave and irreversible danger. He utilized Esau from Genesis, who rejected God's birthright, then later fruitlessly sought it with tears as his example. Perverting free grace is eternally dangerous.
