Looking Unto Jesus

Supposing the writer of Hebrews is Paul or one of his close associates, it's easy to grasp the comparison between the world of athletic competition and the practice of the believer (Ro 9:16, 1 Co 9:24f, Ep 6:12). As a competitor lays down all but the essential clothing and focuses on the finish line, the believer lays aside any extra "weight" and "the sin" that besets. What is that? Wavering faith. What is the answer? Look steadfastly to Jesus.
