Receiving with Thanks

Whatever we say about God and men, we must begin with this that we belong to the Lord. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, of all things seen and unseen, and we belong to and are the very pinnacle of His creative glory expressed at the beginning and even continuing down through the ages. We are God's, we belong to Him and we owe Him our adoration and our affection. He has not only bestowed us with life but other great gifts as well. Despite these blessings we have turned our back on Him, corrupted the gifts and gone our own way. We see this corruption all around us, and so we blame the Giver and we curse the gifts. This is not as it should be. Rather, we are to bless our Maker, embrace life and the gifts He has given and live with worshipful gratitude to the One who made and directs our lives.
