The Spectacle of a Poverty of Faith

Jesus comes down from the Mount of Transfiguration to a scene involving crowds and a demonstrable failure on the part of His disciples to heal a demon-possessed boy. Jesus bemoans the faithless generation before Him, teaches about faith, and again teaches about His death and resurrection--a message rejected at many turns by the disciples. The context seems to be less about faith healing techniques and more about faith in Jesus as revealed in His death and resurrection.
