Thy Servant Will Go and Fight

This is one of the most familiar stories in the Bible, as well as human history. It pictures the slight against the strong. David had only a stone in his sling. Goliath had a shield-bearer, two hundred pounds of armor and a heavy spear in each hand. David had no training. Goliath had a lifetime of preparation. Yet, David had something which the giant didn't. David had the Lord God on his side. He was chosen to this end. As Christ's type, David couldn't fail.
