Romans 8:1-17, Lesson 8

288 ( 115 | 173 )

The law of sin and death is, if we sin, we die. But Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we could have life. Jesus never sinned. If Jesus had sinned, He would not be able to take our sins, and therefore our punishment, from us. Those who are in Christ Jesus do not live according to the sinful fleshly desires. Those in Christ Jesus now have no condemnation. What is our mind set on? What are we desiring and what are we longing for? Heaven is far better than sex and therefore we should long for Heaven. There is nothing in this world that compares to the glories in Christ Jesus. There is only one reason why Jesus has not come yet, it is so that more people can be saved. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. We must be controlled by the Spirit of God. If the Spirit of Christ does not live in us, we are not Christians. If we mess up and do the wrong thing, then we have chosen the wrong way and we need to repent. As Christians, we do not have to continue in sin. If we live according to the sinful nature, we will die. The result of sin is guaranteed death. Sin is a huge deal. If we live according to the sinful nature, we will die. We need to be controlled by the Spirit of God.
