Worship - Its Components Pt 9 [Praise cont'd]

We have commenced to look at Praise as a component of Biblical worship. Praise is always an important and essential part of worship. We noticed last time the words of Psalm 50:23 which states: Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me…. Worship involves the glorifying of our God and therefore praise must be part of that worship.

We have dwelt upon the Origin of true Praise. We can only truly praise God when we have the new song to sing. That new song comes from a new heart and spirit given by God at regeneration. We are not to employ the world's songs to praise the holy God of heaven. Our praise must befit the occasion. Our text speaks of 'singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord'.

We also commenced looking at the Content of our praise. We are seeking to observe and follow the Scriptural model. The Scriptures are our rule in all matters of faith and practice. Praise certainly falls into the second of these categories. Our praise must be Scriptural.

Today we will consider the Tuition that must be part of our praise.
