A "Simple" Request

Text: Rev 11:15, Lord's Day 48

The number 7 in Holy Scripture is often used to symbolize completion and fullness. In our passage this evening the 7th Trumpet is blown marking the completion and consummation of the Kingdom of God and with it the complete and perfect answering of the "simple" second petition of the Lord's Prayer.

1. This "simple" request as explained by our Catechism entails:
   a. The coming of God's Kingdom in my heart.
   b. The coming of God's Kingdom in the Church.
   c. The coming of God's Kingdom in the world.

2. This "simple" request as explained by our text entails:
   a. The 7th Trumpet.
   b. The Kingdom of this world defeated and judged.
   c. The Lord Christ reigning forever and ever.
