Lk 13:34f Compassion Toward the Undeserving

Manu people think of God as some kind of masochist, or ogre, who enjoys hurting people for no apparent reason. Much to the contrary, God is full of compassion toward those who are undeserving of His care.

We can see this in many places in the Old Testament. We can also see it manifested in the person of the Word of God who took on human flesh and dwelt among us.

This follows closely along with those few who are being saved in the verses just prior. It shows that it is not a lack of love on God's part that keeps us from Him, rather, it is our own stiff necks. We loved darkness rather than light. We preferred limitless freedom to do what our own evil desires desire, rather than finding the joy that comes from living within the limits God designed for our souls.
