Confidence in Prayer & Life

In the second half of Acts 1 we hear of the choosing of Matthias to replace Judas among the disciples. This is no mere 'replacement' – a substitute coming off the bench and onto the field. Through Scripture and prayer the apostles are confident the Lord has paved the way and chosen Matthias for this office. Even as they are waiting in Jerusalem for the promised gift of the Spirit, the Lord is with them and directing salvation history – just as he is with us today.
