Known and Accepted: The Tower of Babel

The longing of every human heart is to be known and accepted. when we don't know or when we forget that we have that acceptance from God in Jesus Christ, we begin to seek it from other people.

The underlying motivation for the people to build the Tower of Babel was that they wanted people to remember them--to know who they were--and to think well of them--to remember them favorably.

God put an end to their rebellion and forced them to scatter, but for those of us who are in Christ, we have the hope of a new city and a new name.
