You got your ears on?

21

Back before cellphones were created CB radios were the thing to have in your ride. With these you could communicate between vehicles. And one of the sayings that they would use would be to ask a certain person, 'you got your ears on?' or in other words I want to talk to you. Here we see God is wanting to talk to young Samuel. If you finish reading this story you will find that God is about to reveal not only Himself to Samuel but confirm some bad news that another prophet had already given to Eli. But Samuel couldn't receive the message till he put his ears on, or tuned himself onto God's channel. Once he did he began to understand that God was trying to get his attention. God doesn't always come with good news and a great plan for your life, but He comes with what we need. Sometimes He has to get our attention. So when He speaks your name listen up, but if He calls your name twice in a row He is trying to get your attention and you best listen to His call.
