Finding Our Place In His Heart

Embed

This Sunday morning, we are embarking on uncharted waters in this final Snow Camp message. We are going to attempt to explore how we as God’s children, who have found our place in God’s hopes, in His hands and in His home, can find our place in His heart. The reason I say these are uncharted waters is because the Scripture is not filled with references about the heart of God. There are tons of verses about our hearts being right, but not lots of verses about God’s heart. There are many hints however, and hints that are strong enough that hymn writers have written about God’s heart. Cleland B. McAfee in 1903 wrote an awesome hymn called “Near To The Heart Of God.” That’s the place I want to be, and it’s the place I am praying each of you want to go and be at home, in His heart, or near to His heart. The words of the hymn are: There is a place of quiet rest, Near to the heart of God; A place where sin cannot molest, Near to the heart of God. Refrain: O Jesus, blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God; Hold us, who wait before Thee, Near to the heart of God. There is a place of comfort sweet, Near to the heart of God; A place where we our Savior meet, Near to the heart of God. There is a place of full release, Near to the heart of God; A place where all is joy and peace, Near to the heart of God.”
