God Can Be Known

12

Paul's sermon runs from verse 22-31, a sermon addressed to cultured pagans. There is practical method that Paul uses. He presents the reasonableness of believing in Christ. It starts with God the creator and it presents the declaration of evidences of the existence of God, which is plainly seen through the examination of nature. Through the observation of the evident complexity of creation, the God of creation is known to be in sovereign control of it. God's existence is observed even by pagan poets. Paul builds out this basic knowledge of God by speaking of His sovereignty, justice, and judgment to come, by Jesus the Man whom He has ordained. Man has been created that he may seek the Lord and find Him as He is not far from any of us. And Paul ends with the command of repentance in view of the final judgment to come.
