The Second Great Commandment

Jesus is only asked what the greatest commandment is. Yet, He answers by also revealing the second great commandment: To love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Perhaps no statement in the Bible has been more misunderstood and misrepresented than this second great command. As we understand its correct meaning, we will see why it is that Jesus connects the two, adding it to the question that was asked of Him. Only by knowing what it is to love God supremely can we properly know what it is to love our neighbor as ourselves.
