A Sovereign God And A Lawless Man

Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Because of a misunderstanding within the Thessalonica church, the Apostle Paul clarifies what he had previously written about the second coming of Christ. In chapter 2, end-times doctrine takes center stage, and several new and disturbing details are revealed. Yet in spite of the coming troubles, Paul focuses our attention in this passage on the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This morning we learn:

1. That utmost care needs to be given to this passage.

2. That the three basic elements revealed in this passage are:
   a. The great falling away.
   b. The man of lawlessness.
   c. The restrainer of lawlessness.

3. That the Lord God alone is shown to reign in this passage.
