Moses continues to remind Israel concerning the statutes to be applied when they come into Canaan. Perhaps under the idea of being a holy people the following topics are raised: only certain men may be appointed to offices of authority, their war-camps were to be holy, they may grant asylum to escaping servants, a warning against whoredoms, against applying usury to them in need, keeping all vows, and being liberal with their substance.
