Looking Beyond the Temporary
The difference between those who only a temporary word for a temporary moment compared to those who are being transformed to transform this generation and many more to come.
There was a time when some Israelites were burying a man, they spied a group of raiders in the distance, so they acted quickly and threw the body into the tomb of Elisha (the prophet) and fled. But as soon as the body touched Elisha's bones, the dead man came back to life and stood a to his feet!" (2 Kings 13:21)
The impact of God's presence upon one generation can effectively touch and transform another... even when the generation to come is dead and powerless to respond.
God is still using His anointed to transfer life... even in death, their favor and legacy speaks of His redeeming touch.
From the the bones of Elisha or the testimony of the Shunamite woman or the hymns of Fanny Crosby or the words of Spurgeon... I pray my work and your witness will quicken the dead, long after we're gone.
"It is well..." words of faith, from a person of faith, when the outcome of their day or challenge or circumstance is resting in the unfailing mercy of God. Faith sees beyond the current situation and it declares, "It is well!" regardless of what the past looked like or what the future holds.
