I love Magic Eye images! But sometimes they're difficult to see. You can squint, blur your eyes, cross your eyes, hold them close, look at them from across the room … even stand on your head!!! But sometimes you just can't see the embedded image. That was what it was like with the Corinthians. The power of God was being displayed right before their eyes, but they were convinced that it was, instead, simply Paul's unimpressive weakness. They'd fallen prey to "false apostles" and were stuck in deep sin. They were convinced Paul was a fake and had challenged him to his face. But in response, Paul wrote, "Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!" (2 Cor 13:5a) The Corinthians needed help seeing clearly; Paul was God's man for that job. He was planning to come to them "not sparing any." Weak and unimpressive in himself but mighty in the power of God
