Applied Justification

Just as total depravity must be applied, so must justification. The doctrine of justification is that we are declared perfectly righteous before God on the basis of the righteousness of Jesus imputed to our account by faith in Him. This righteousness is complete. Nothing is lacking or missing. We cannot add to it. The question is this: Do we live and act and behave as though we really believe that our righteousness is in Jesus? Or do we behave like Adam and Eve, naked in the garden, sewing on fig leaves to cover ourselves, blaming each other for our own sins?
