Adam and Eve Were Put Under a Covenant of Works

It was a high moment when God brought Adam to the Garden of Eden to "dress and keep it". What exquisite beauty, peace, tranquility and splendor filled the setting. Then, it turned. God put Adam under a covenant of works and a warning of death. What Adam understood, we cannot tell but he knew to obey. His disobedience would result in condemnation and the need for the Messiah.
