Those Fiery Trials

The faith of the widow of Zarephath was really put to the test. She had already endured the loss of her husband and being left to raise her little son by herself.

She then was tested by the drought that was in the land to the point where she got down to their last meal. Starvation by death was eminent, until Elijah came along. He tested her faith by asking her to make him a cake for him first before making it for her and her son.

You would think that this was enough testing. But then one day very suddenly her child dies in her arms. A fiery trial indeed!

There are many simple yet needful lessons every Christian to to learn and relearn from this touching scene.
