Introduction

IV. The Sabbath's Rest

A. The Sabbath & God (Mk. 2:27; Rom. 7:10, 13; Heb. 3:18-4:10)

 1. It is a creation ordinance made for mankind's good.
 2. Sin has ruined our ability to enjoy the Sabbath on the original principle of working and then resting.
 3. But, God had spoken in the OT of another day of rest in the future that we are to enter into by believing the Gospel.

B. The Sabbath & The Women (Matt. 27:62-66; Acts 11:18, 21:14)

Conclusion

1. The followers of Jesus should be found keeping the Law of God.

2. Sabbath keeping is not inactivity.

3. Sabbath rest can only come through believing the Gospel.

"Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:28)
