(40) A Tale of Two Trials
Series Acts 2021
80 ( 52 | 28 )
Acts 24 is a Trial Narrative. On the surface there is only one trial. Once again Paul and the Christian faith which he represents are vindicated before a Roman magistrate.
But upon closer inspection we see that Paul turns the tables. He had been charged by Christ himself "to bear Christ's name before Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel" (Acts. 9:15). As Paul bears Christ's name before this governor Felix and all who are in his hearing, including those who would hear about his testimony thousands of years later, the Word of God stands as judge and Governor Felix, and you and I are put on trial.
