Grace Given in Christ

Shallow minds are tweaked by emotion and excitement, but thoughtful minds must have more than this. Paul in advising Timothy did not attempt to affect him by appeals to his feelings. A religion maintained by excitement will be very flimsy and falter very clumsily in the real world. God intends faithful preachers to appeal to your minds and hearts using solid preaching and Biblical truths. Paul here reminds Timothy to boldness in protecting and proclaiming divine truth. Sound doctrine is the root and energy of the Christian faith and it is crucial that God's preachers declare God's truths to you; God's people hear divine truth and embrace it.
