Say Good Riddens to the Old Man and All His Old Stuff

125

Whether the believer knows it or not he is a new creature in Christ. All that is OLD has forever passed away and all NEW things have come to stay. Until he comes to know himself see himself and love himself even as God Knows, sees and loves him. He will be occupied with himself and be miserable. Like the children of Israel in the Desert of Sin he will complain grumble and be afraid. Until he passes the one and only test all believers are given (Deuteronomy 8:3) whether or not he will live by bread alone or by every Word of God, he will not enter into the "promised land" of real and lasting happiness. In order to go there one must Cross the Jordan River which is the River of Death that flows into the dead Sea. Each one must learn what it means that he was baptized into the death of Christ and freed from sin in order that he might walk around in NEWNESS of Ressurection Life...being as we are plainly declared to be, having died, having been buried, raised, ascended and seated together with Christ in the heavenlies.
Until we know this and live in the reality of ultimate truth we will miss the freedom and happiness God has programmed into the temporal phase of eternal life. These things must be understood if the believer is to resist sin and overcome the enemy even as Jesus Did...by the very same means by the power of the Word and the Spirit...by being who he was and relying upon God evry moment...living by every Word of God.
