Saul's First Test

Continuing the search of the first book of Samuel, Saul’s first test as King of Israel is studied.

Rev. Ken Elliot looks at five point of Saul’s first test.

1. THE REPORT HE HEARD
   i) The evasion and surrender of the men of Jabesh.
   ii) The reproach and humiliation caused by the Ammonties.
   iii) The sadness and the weeping of the people of Gileah.
2. THE RESPONSE HE MADE
   i) The anger felt as the power of Holy Spirit fell upon Saul.
   ii) The fear of the people and the rounding up of the army.
   iii) The assurance that was sent to the men of Jabesh.
3. THE RESOURCE HE OBTAINED
   i) Empowerment and enablement received.
   ii) Received from the power of the Holy Spirit.
4. THE ROUT HE ACCOMPLISHED
   i) The planning of it, the army were divided into three groups.
   ii) The performing of it, from early morning unto noon.
5. THE RECOGNITION THAT WAS RECORDED
   i) The call from the people regarding the children of Belial.
   ii) The call from Samuel to renew the kingship of Saul.
   iii) The celebration that was made, unto the Lord.
