Wisdom From Above

The chapter that opens the Book of Proverbs explores the book's main theme--the nature and source of true wisdom. In this chapter, we find Wisdom personified, a clear reference to Christ, the Wisdom of God, and we hear the call of Wisdom to sinners to turn from their sins and to heed the words of the Gospel. The chapter also carries the most solemn warning that the day of calamity is coming, and that on that day, it will be too late to call on Christ for rescue.
