Pastor Tim Goad delves into these verses expounding on a profound truth set forth by CHRIST here in HIS designation of HIS people being the Lights of the world, a title previously only given to JESUS HIMSELF. As in biblical times where cities were often set upon hills as to illuminate the surrounding areas during night, so are we called to illuminate the truth and love of CHRIST through our lives and in sharing the gospel. Secondly, as lamps in a room, we bring to the light the deeds of the dark and expose in our being the light of CHRIST amongst them. Let us not wander through this life hiding, but shining forth, as a beacon of hope and truth, to a lost and dying world.
