Colossians 1:24-29: Rejoice in Sufferings

In Colossians 1:24-29, Paul describes the ministry over which God has made him a steward. Paul, by the power of Christ, is to proclaim Christ, warning and teaching all men that they would come to completion in Christ. But in verse 24, Paul explains that this ministry will involve suffering. And Paul rejoices in this suffering.

This sermon focuses on verse 24, first explaining what Paul means when he says he "fill[s] up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ". Then the purpose for his suffering--"for the sake of His body, which is the church" is explored. And then, finally, reasons for rejoicing in our sufferings are given.
