God Will Provide the Lamb

In this passage, God tests Abraham with the shocking and strange command to slaughter his precious son Isaac. Abraham's response to God highlights more about God than about Abraham. We are reminded of God's ways with all of his people: 1)God gives tests to his people, 2) God gives grace to his people, and 3) God gives Christ to his people as our ultimate provision and reward. Abraham's famous line sums up his Spirit-filled faith: "God will provide for himself the Lamb, my son."
