Introduction
• Severe trials and Tribulations will Mark the Last Days (Matthew 24:22; James 5:9)
• What Manner of Persons Ought You be in Holy Conduct and Godliness (2 Peter 3:11)
I. “The End of All Things is at Hand (v. 7a; James 5:8-9; Hebrews 10:25; 1 John 2:18)
II. Four Exhortations that Ought to Characterize the Believer (vs. 7b-11)
• Prayer(v. 7b) – Be “Serious” and “Watchful”
• Love One Another (v. 8) - “Above All These Things”; Fervently”; “Will Cover a Multitude of Sins”
• Be Hospitable to One Another (v. 9) – “Love of Strangers” (Hebrews 13:2; Romans 12:13; 1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:8; Luke 8:1-3)
• “Without Grumbling” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8)
• Serve One Another with Your Gift(s) (v. 10-11a)
• Must Not Boast of our Gift(s) as though We didn’t Receive it(them) from God (1 Corinthians 4:7)
• As “Good Stewards” - For the Purpose of the “Work of Ministry” (Ephesians 4:14; Mark 10:42-45; Matthew 25:14-27) – “of the Manifold Grace of God” (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians Chapter 4:16)
• Two Ways or Methods (v. 11a)
• Verbally – “Speak as the Oracles of God” (1 Thessalonians 2:3-5, 13; Ephesians 4:29)
• Materially (Service or Aid) – (Philippians 4:15-16)
Conclusion/Application – “In All Things God May Be Glorified through Jesus Christ” (v. 11b)
• As We Wait for the Second Coming of Christ, Who is Standing at the Door, We Must by the Grace of God Conduct of Lives in a Manner that Will Glorify God through Jesus Christ
