Are All Things Working Together for Good?

There is nothing that comes to pass in time that God
has not predestined in eternity. And that which He
does predestinate is for the good of His elect and
the glory of His name.

All things work together for good.

What a grand promise. This grand promise does have
boundaries though:

1. It is for Christians only

2. The 'good' described is conformation to the image
   of Christ

3. It promises a good use of things which we would
   consider bad

4. It involves knowing, rather than feeling.

Within these parameters, this promise is boundless
and provides us with a soft pillow upon which we can
lay at night knowing that despite what is going on
around us, we can know that God is absolutely in
control.
