History and Destiny

Peter used the history of the great flood to underscore the truth that the world will end with the same kind of finality as marked the end of the world as it was before the flood. There will come a day when Christ shall appear and when the heavens and earth as they presently appear will disappear to make way for new heavens and a new earth that will be marked by righteousness. Those who are the Lord's people must remember that the world in which they now live is transitory, and they must look for the coming of that great day that is coming by living in holiness and godliness.
