Yahweh Has a Day

In Isaiah 2:5-21 we are shown 2 reasons Judah should
repent and walk in the light of Yahweh (v. 5).
I. Judah is currently rejected by God (v. 6a-b).
A. Because they are full of trust in fortune-
tellers and foreigners (v. 6c-d).
B. Because they are full of trust in silver and
gold (v. 7a-b).
C. Because they are full of trust in horses and
chariots (v. 7c-d).
D. Because they are full of worship to idols
made by their own hands (v. 8).
E. Because forgiveness seems unthinkable
(v. 9).

II. Yahweh will bring judgment on His day.
A. From which proud humanity will try to hide
but fail (vs. 10-11).
B. Because of the arrogance of men (vs. 12-17).
C. Resulting in the utter destruction of idols
(vs. 18-19).
D. Proving the utter uselessness of trusting in
and worshiping idols (vs. 20-21).
