Discipline Maintains the Church's Holy Character

In today's sermon, I want to show you how church discipline is essential if we are to maintain our identity as a people who have come to Jesus to be reconciled to God. First Corinthians 5 is a chapter in the Bible where the Corinthians are urged to exercise church discipline and are shown how essential it is if they want to continue as a true church. As a congregation that recently had to remove a family by church discipline, we are going to look at this chapter that we may learn how important it is for us to do this.
