Jesus Political Trials II

264 ( 122 | 142 )

It should be observed that the "trials" of Jesus don't address what he has done, so much as they address who he is. In Luke's gospel, Pilate only asks Jesus one question: Are you the King of the Jews? But the evidence that validated his person has already been presented throughout the entirety of his ministry. The miracles especially were irrefutable testimony that God was with Jesus and that everything he said was true. From one perspective, it is not Jesus standing trial before the religious leaders or Herod or Pilate, but the reverse. The real question is: Will they accept the clear and compelling evidence that validated Jesus claim to be the Christ. We, likewise, are all on trial.
