BSGCEPH # 7 The mystery of His will Eph 1 vs 7-9

227
  1. The declaration of righteousness of God's people was not by an arbitrary judgment that was not based on something of substance.

  2. No, it came by way of the redemption that is in the blood of Christ. And this was for God to demonstrate the riches of His grace.

  3. The believer was not saved on a measly budget-like they could actually exhaust God's budget on grace and mercy as some ignorant people think and have said. God saved them according to His inexorable, unsearchable and abundant riches in Christ.

  4. And this matter of salvation was done by God not as a stop gap measure, but in all wisdom and prudence-because God has no fire extinguisher or ambulance services. And thus, God left nothing considered in His purpose that would cause Him to change His mind about anything. There is no sinner whose has sin that has never been known by God. And so, God does not change His mind about your salvation because of some sin that you did yesterday. His purpose in salvation is much greater than your silliness.

  5. The matter of the gospel then is found in the very being of God in that He has an eternal purpose in Christ, which was only known to Him. And that is the mystery. And mystery does not mean something that is too hard or complicated to understand. Rather, it means something that is unknowable apart from God's revelation of it. But when it has been revealed it is even understood by the babes, the suckling because God is the teacher of it.

  6. Thus, Christ Jesus and His work of salvation is the mystery that was unknown to all men and is still unknowable by the unregenerate mind until and unless God reveals it to them.
