Why are we here?

In this passage we find a man who is now on the back half of his trip. One day he had arrived in Jerusalem, had conducted his business and was now on his way home. His business we are told was to come and worship. In the next verse we are told he was reading a scroll he had undoubtedly purchased while in Jerusalem, and now he was reading it. Our primary focus today is on the fact that he came to worship there in Jerusalem. Why was he there, why are we here?
