Christ's Authority in the Church

Christ's Authority:
Exercised (Rom. 10:14-17 | Acts 20:20-21 | Eph. 2:17)

• Salvation and holiness ordinarily comes to His people through the preaching of the Word.
• Composing His churches by those who have faith in Him

Assured (John 15:5 | Eph. 4:8-12 | Acts 14:23 | Titus 1:5)

• By His giving of gifts (pastors) to preach His word
• By ordering His churches

Implemented (Rom. 5:8)

• Pastors must meet Biblical qualifications to minister Christ word ( 1 Tim. 3 | Titus 1:5-9)
• Maintain the apostolic pattern of sound words (2 Tim. 1:13-14)
• Pastors must instruct by the public reading and preaching (1 Tim. 4:6-16)
• Pastors must endure the ministry even when others won't endure sound doctrine (2 Tim. 2:5)

Maintained (2 Tim. 2:2)

• It is maintained as He provides men who desire the office.
• And training other qualified men so that all this continues on
