The Kingdom United - No Thanks to Joab

In this sermon we examine the human politics, intrigue, and deceit behind David taking the throne -- and behind it all is the providence of God.

-- The politics belong primarily to Abner, but also to David.
-- The intrigue lies in the delicate negotiations involved in bringing two separate nations back together under a new regime.
-- The deceit belongs to Joab.

David is innocent in it all, and God is not the author of the evil we see, but behind it all -- in God's providence, we see God using even the evil accomplish His purposes -- while at the same time -- the evil doers will not go unpunished. They are absolutely responsible for their sin.
