God's Blessing on Jacob

A rather interesting and confusing passage brings us to the negotiations of Jacob's wages. He has fulfilled the marital contracts and desires to depart peacefully. Laban declares the great benefits Jacob's work and presence has provided for him, Jacob is well aware that he has nothing other than a family to support. Whether the results of the bargain were the result of a crafty deal on Jacob's part or Divine intervention the end result is the same- God keeps his promise to Jacob.
