An Evangelistic Church No 5
Series Free Presbyterian Distinctives
Throughout the 60 year history of our denomination considerable emphasis has been put upon evangelism and outreach in its many forms.
Many of our congregations commenced as the result of Gospel Missions, where not only did believers separate from the ecumenical apostasy, but scores of people were converted to Christ as well.
The long term continuance and strength of a Church is related to the emphasis it puts upon evangelism. The existing saints may be taught and instructed. But if there is not the conversion of the children growing up in our midst and an infusion of new converts into the Church, the local congregation will die.
The evangelistic thrust of any denomination or congregation will determine its vitality. A denomination that seeks to win souls and see men and women converted to Christ will be a church or congregation that will have vigour and life about it.
This sermon deals with the burden, content and manner of evangelism.
