I hid not my face from shame (a word to the weary)

For our Communion Service, we look to Isaiah 50:4-7 and consider how the Suffering Servant willingly submitted Himself out of love for those wearied by their sin and guilt before God. In His action of giving His back to the smiters and not hiding His face from the shame of His Sufferings, He shows us His willingness to suffer and save those who are the elect of God. That is something we must see at the Table when Christ is portrayed as though crucified among us.
