This situation did not lead to unbelief.
In confessing, he does not complain about his circumstances as being unjust.
In confessing, he does not believe his own righteousness is the basis (v. 18) of his plea.
In confessing, he still appeals to God’s honor and His connection to His covenant people.
Let us make several observations about this confession:
Notice how Daniel’s confession is based on God’s Word.
Notice Daniel’s confession offers no excuses for the sins.
Notice the Daniel’s confession does not sugarcoat his sins.
Notice that Daniel’s confession is humble and submissive.
Notice how Daniel unreservedly, fully and freely confesses his sins.
Lastly, notice how Daniel prays as a believer.
