Hometown Scorn

A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and amongst his own household. Why is this? Why is it that those who knew Jesus from a infant through childhood and into manhood had the least respect for him? Why does familiarity breed contempt? How do preconceived notions about God and about Christ have a negative effect on faith? What does it mean that Jesus could do no miracle there?
