Who Hath Believed Our Report?

Isaiah wrote of our successful savior the Lord Jesus Christ. This chapter begins with the lamentation "Who hath believed our report?" Many in Christendom today speak of a "gospel" where salvation is not actual but potential, provided the sinner is willing to meet the prescribed regimen for salvation. In stark contrast, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news of a successful savior (Matt 1:21) who actually accomplished the salvation of his elect family and who invites all those who are laboring and heavy laden to find rest in His finished work.
